Aim and content
This is a generic course. This means that the course is reserved for PhD students at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH. Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at the Graduate School, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. After the enrolment deadline, available seats will be allocated to the waiting list.
The course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School). Special rules apply for research year students enrolled at Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH. All other participants must pay the course fee.

Medical Writing: Follow-up Course
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to do the following:
• Present their work clearly and convincingly
• Transform weak writing into strong writing
• Appreciate the finer points of grammar, usage and punctuation (especially the comma)
• Apply their knowledge of the IMRAD structure
• Write an appropriate cover letter in response to difficult-to-answer reviewer’s comments
Content
Participants will build on knowledge acquired in previous courses. They will have the opportunity to further improve their writing skills and maximize the impact of their published research. Topics covered will include idiomatic phrases, verb tenses, the passive, prepositions, linking words and organizational signals, punctuation to clarify meaning, tightening up the language, and removing the dead wood.
Participants
PhD students who have attended the Medical Writing or Intensive Medical Writing course.
Researchers who have some experience in writing and publishing would also benefit from attending the course.
Note: The course is not suitable for novices.

Presentations, exercises, discussions, and evaluation of short texts.
NOTE: All participants must send an abstract or introduction or part of a discussion 14 days before the start of the course.
