Content
The PhD day begins with a series of talks from past PhD students working in industry and institutions who employ PhD students.
One focus of the talks will revolve around personal- and career-wise experiences, aiming to provide perspective to PhD students. The course also presents more practical subjects such as applying for funding or patents.
After the talks the day continues with a communication session, and finishes with a social dinner.
When signing up, after clicking on "Apply" and filling out the application form, please remember to specify that you are participating in the communication session with a poster and whether you are attending the dinner by sending an email to PhDay@chem.ku.dk.

Teaching and learning methods
Talks by past PhD students working in industry and institutions who employ PhD students. Exchange of experience and knowledge with peers in informal settings during the communication session. Preparation and presentation of a poster. The participants present their posters and gain feedback from their peers during the communication session. Through preparation and presentation of their poster the participants are forced to think about how they relate to other PhD students in the department – and how to communicate it.
Remarks
Formal requirements:
Course participants must bring a poster to the PhD Day.
As the main focus of the PhD day is about communication and making presentations to fellow researchers at the Department of Chemistry, the poster serves as an important tool for reaching this objective rather than for presenting own research.
Academic qualifications:
PhD students from the Department of Chemistry.
