Content
The objective of this PhD-course is to teach the student patent landscape analysis within the field of his/her PhD-project.

The course is taught as individual coaching. Please contact course responsible Peter Ulvskov for further information.

Learning outcome
The student will apply the tools taught in Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights in Biotechnology to their own field.

The tools in question comprise:

Blob diagrams
Hierarchical search profiles
Patent family analysis including following prosecution
Judging strength of issued patents and applications

The student will produce a report documenting application the above-mentioned tools on the student’s thesis topic.

Literature
Patenting in Biotechnology, a Laboratory Handbook by Peter Ulvskov.

Teaching and learning methods
Individual coaching.

Remarks
Patent Landscape Analysis + Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights in Biotechnology combined qualify students to apply to be enrolled in BBIP at Copenhagen Business School.

Students are required to have followed and passed the PhD-course Innovation and Intellectual Property Rights in Biotechnology and to pursue a line of research that falls within biotechnology in its broadest sense
