Content
The Copenhagen School of Chemometrics (CSC) is a five-week school designed to be an introduction to different key aspects of data analysis in science. Therefore, CSC is specifically designed for researchers who want to start using data analysis in their routine work. Structured in eleven different seminars, topics like design of experiments, chromatographic data analysis or spectroscopic data analysis will be studied and learned by the students.

The students can choose the seminars they need (see below how to register for specific seminars) or attend the whole school. There is no minimum number of seminars to attend.

Seminars:
1) 7 May: What's chemometrics? – 0.5 ECTS (Tormod Næs)
2) 7 afternoon-8-9 morning May: Linear Models – 1 ECTS (Age Smilde, Federico Marini)
3) 10-11 May: Lineal Algebra - 1 ECTS (Morten A. Rasmussen)
4) 14-15 May: Multivariate Exploration - 1 ECTS (Rasmus Bro)
5) 16-17 May: Multivariate Regression - 1 ECTS (José Manuel Amigo)
6) 18-21-22 May: Design of Experiments - 2 ECTS (Riccardo Leardi). NOTE: lecture on Holyday.
7) 23-24-25 May: Linear Classification -1 ECTS (Davide Ballabio)
8) 28-29 May: Variable Selection Methods – 1 ECTS (To be confirmed)
9) 30-31 May: Multivariate Curve Resolution - 1 ECTS (To be confirmed)
10) 1 June: Analysis of your Own Data – 0 ECTS (José Manuel Amigo). NOTE: No registration needed!
11) 4-5-6-7 June: Hyperspectral Image Analysis - 2 ECTS (José Manuel Amigo)
12) 8 June: How NOT to make Chemometrics - 0.5 ECTS (Rasmus Bro, José Manuel Amigo)

Learning outcome
The Copenhagen School of Chemometrics (CSC) is a five-week school designed to be an introduction to different key aspects of data analysis in science. Therefore, CSC is specifically designed for researchers who want to start using data analysis in their routine work.

One of the key points of CSC is the interaction between the students and between the teachers to offer the possibility of open-mind discussion forums always within the framework of scientific data analysis and performance. That is why CSC counts with well-recognized experts on chemometrics and multivariate data analysis in their respective fields. The intended learning outcomes have to be divided into two categories:

- Individual learning outcomes: the main target for each individual seminar is to learn the basis of one data analysis method focused on several proposed examples. The student has to be able to apply the acquired knowledge to any problem related to the seminar by himself.
- Global learning outcomes: The students attending all the seminars, at the end of the course, they will be able to understand the structure of a huge amount of data structures and also to understand the problems derived from the data. Moreover, they will be independent in the application of solutions to their problems in a dedicated manner.

Literature
Handouts and scientific papers provided during the course; MATLAB scripts and source code provided during the course.

Teaching and learning methods
- Contact Teaching: the basis of the course teaching will be done by presentations. Lectures in power-point plus examples/exercises with the computer. The students will be able to follow all the exercises in their own computers. - Learning: Apart from the exercises presented at class, the students will be given several exercises that they must solve for the report. - Educational approaches: This course is addressed to PhD students or advanced Master students. The educational background of the students will be different.
