Content
The aim of the course is to introduce PhD students to the professional use of research microscopes. Students can enrol in the following modules, according to their projects and interests:
A - Light Microscopy
B - Histology
C - Confocal Microscopy
D - Scanning Electron Microscopy
E - Summer Course
F - Image Interpretation
The teachers are members of the Center for Advanced Bioimaging (CAB) Denmark. Where relevant, preparation methods for the respective microscope type and hands-on at the instruments are included. Students interested in the course can freely choose the appropriate module(s).

Aim and content

Module C Confocal Microscopy
This module is designed as a general introduciton to confocal microscopy, The students will learn about the fundamental principals in confocal and two-photon microscopy, about the use of the microscope in practice and about its many possibilities. It will, however, not serve as a full practical training for using microscopes in the CAB center. It will be possible for the students to bring their own specimens.
