Content
Subject area: Chemistry - from quantum chemistry, spectroscopy to organic synthesis.

Topics include photochemistry, photophysics, spectroscopic methods, capture of solar energy, molecular design of devices, energy storage, electron transport and energy transfer mechanisms, molecular dynamics, bioinspired constructs, artificial photosynthesis, intermolecular interactions, photon up-conversion .

Scientific content: Quantum chemistry, spectroscopy, organic synthesis.

Preparation: Articles and student presentations.

Self-study: Articles.

Tools for how to exploit solar energy and how to control chemical reactions

Remarks
Students can follow the summer school in two ways:

Course hours: ca. 125 hours (self-study, lectures, active participation): 5 ECTS
Course hours: ca. 190 hours (self-study, lectures, active participation, report based on literature survey or small project): 7.5 ECTS
