Aim and content
This course aims to equip the participants with the tools necessary to connect theory to current and planned observations and experiments in particle physics, cosmology and astrophysics, with emphasis on gravitational wave observations. The goal would be to cover topics not traditionally taught in standard graduate courses, and offer an introduction to modern methods used at the forefront of current research. After some introductory lectures, students will get to see how these tools are applied towards understanding results from ground- and space-based gravitational wave measurements. The invited lecturers are internationally renowned experts in these subjects.

Learning outcome
The students are expected to gain an understanding of topics that are currently the focus of active experimental efforts. Emphasis will be on searching for physics through observations from the current constellation of ground-based gravitational wave detectors, including LIGO, Virgo and KAGRA, and future space-based LISA.

Teaching and learning methods
Students will be given topical introductions, along with an overview of the current state of the field and the open questions that confront it. All lecturers at the school will provide background material, as well as making the content of their lectures available to the students. The students are also encouraged to present contributions on their current research projects, which will be a requirement for those students who wish to obtain credit for their participation.
