Aim and content
This is a generic course. This means that the course is reserved for PhD students at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH. Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at the Graduate School, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. After the enrolment deadline, available seats will be allocated to the waiting list.

The course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at graduate schools in the other Nordic countries. All other participants must pay the course fee.

Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:

1. Clearly deliver a research message, both visually and verbally
2. Make an eye-catching poster
3. Make a structured, but relaxed, oral poster presentation
4. Approach poster-making with new ideas
5. Understand what makes a poster effective or ineffective.

Content
Through group discussions and demonstrations of 'what to do' and 'what not to do', participants will learn the elements of an effective poster. The oral presentation will be based on a template structure, which participants can elaborate according to the talk time allowance. After guidance, participants will sketch a draft poster and practise the accompanying oral presentation. Feedback will be given on posters and on presentations.

Participants
PhD students who wish to present their research findings in poster form.
