Content
The summer course for experienced microscopists comprises theory and show-cases on selected topics, such as Fluorescence Lifetime, Super Resolution and High Throughput Microscopy as well as high speed live and spectral imaging. Internationally outstanding experts will give key notes on these topics. It will be possible for the students to bring their own specimens, if suitable for the chosen techniques and agreed upon (please indicate your interest at the latest end of May). Part of the summer course is the annual meeting of the Danish Bioimaging network with opportunity to present posters or talks.

Thursday June 27:,Morning: 1. Guest lecture by Lecture by Julia Fernandez-Rodrigue: Correlated Multimodal Imaging 2. Guest lecture to be determined. Afternoon: Hands-on: Spinning disk confocal imaging (Guillermo Sergio Moreno Pescador) Hands-on: Perfussion setup, live imaging of tissue (Jakob Grunnet Knudsen). Discussion and course conclusion.


Formel requirements
Students interested in the course are requested to apply with a short motivation and, when accepted, to give a short presentation of their research project and make an oral presentation or a poster at the DBN meeting

Learning outcome
Participants will learn the theory behind advanced microscopy techniques and how to utilize their full potential from internationally outstanding experts that will be part of the course. It will be possible for the students to bring their own specimens.
The course will enable the participants to design bioimaging experiments for their own PhD project.

Target group
PhD students within the biological, biophysical, environmental, life, and medical sciences.

Lecturers
Guest lecturer:
Julia Fernandez-Rodriguez, University of Gothenburg, will give a talk on Correlated Multimodal Imaging and participate in the hands-on laboratory exercise.

Dorus Gadella, University of Amsterdam, will give a talk on fluorescence life-time imaging microscopy and participate in the hands-on laboratory exercise.

Roland Nitschke, University of Freiburg, will give a talk on Quality assessment and reproducibility for instruments and images in light microscopy and participate in the hands-on laboratory exercise
