Content
This is an advanced synthesis course designed to train students at the late master's level and at the PhD level. The course will describe and discuss modern tecniques for the synthesis of advanced organic and inorganic small-molecules. The focus of the course is to describe and demonstarte techniques for synthesis rather than the preperation of specific molecules

Learning outcome
Knowledge:
After the course the student will be able to describe and discuss modern tecniques for the synthesis of advanced organic and inorganic small-molecules.

Skills:
To work independantly with specialised equipment and advanced synthesis methods.
To work with synthetic chemistry under an inert atmosphere and at anhydrous conditions.
To work with microscale reactions.
To work responibly with highly reactive reagents and low boiling liquids and gasses.
To work responsibly with chemical reactions at extreeme temperatures and pressures.
To work with various types of chomatographic purification methods and make educated choices regarding purification methods.

Competences:
To assess when the use of advanced techniques and advanced equipment is necessary and to make educated choices regarding the execution of the chemical reactions and the purification methods.
