Aim and content
The course will in 3 ½ hour enable participants to handle references on the computer via Reference Manager software and to import bibliographic information from on-line databases with focus on PubMed and Web Of Science. The student will lear to handle the 'cite while you write' function - e.g. adding citations in the text and instantly format citations and bibliography in different styles.

The introduction, instruction and hands-on training will introduce participants to:
Building databases
Database maintenance
Importing bibliographic information from on-line databases with focus on PubMed and Web of Science
Searching and downloading from bibliographic databases
Searching in and editing references
Building keyword lists and synonyms
Cite While You Write: creating a paper with properly formatted citations and bibliography
Demonstration: using and formatting filters and styles

The course presents several other functions and will focus on version 12.
RefVizTM, Web Publisher, and RefMan on a Netwotk are not included in this course.

Note: This is a generic course. This means that it is reserved for PhD students at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences. Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are a student at another graduate school you will be placed on waiting list for the course until enrollment deadline. After the deadline, available seats will be allocated to students on the waiting list.
