Content
Write effectively, and make it more likely that your work will be accepted. This 4-day course enables you to do exactly that through:

• Efficient writing routines
• Insights into the mechanics of a scientific paper and its various sections
• Constructive feedback from instructors and peers
• Clear syntax, correct grammar and appropriate vocabulary
• Targeted argumentation

Your own texts will be subject to analysis and feedback. You will experience that through active writing, you become productive and, in addition, a valuable contributor to fellow scientists’ work.

The course aims at all PhD students engaged in scientific writing. Scientists from various disciplines are welcome to attend.

Learning outcome
By the end of this workshop, you should see improvement in your ability to:

• Write and communicate in correct English
• Assess text quality
• Read and discuss logically
• Analyse and synthesise
• Cooperate in a team environment
• Keep your “writer’s optimism”

Literature
Hand-outs, including programmes for each day, annotated text samples and a practical booklet with writing tools and checklists.

Teaching and learning methods
Short lectures, active writing exercises, group discussion and analysis.

Course fee:

The course fee is DKK 6,250.00. This includes VAT.
Applicants will be asked to provide invoicing information which will be used to collect the course fee.

Cancellation:
The course fee will be charged in full if enrollment is cancelled 14 days or less before the course.

Communication consultant Claus Adam Jarløv and his team from GlobalDenmark.
