Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School). Special rules apply for research year students enrolled at Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student, you will be placed on the waiting list for the course until enrollment deadline. After the deadline of enrollment, available seats will be allocated to students on the waiting list.

Clinical Research in Health and Medical Sciences
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Better understand fundamental principles of designing, registering, and reporting of clinical research.
2. Better plan clinical research, including design, registration, and reporting.
3. Better reflect on how others have planned, conducted and reported clinical research.
Content
The content of the course will be an introduction to clinical research in health and medical sciences, covering the levels of evidence from prospective cohort studies, over randomized controlled trials, to systematic reviews with meta-analyses. The topics include: research questions, study designs, statistical considerations, sample size calculations, clinimetric properties of outcome measures, intervention design, research registration, sampling, blinding, and reporting of research.
Participants
PhD-students preferably newly enrolled. No special qualifications required.
