Content
The aim of this course is to teach the participants to use the Positive and Negative Syndrome Scale (PANSS)
PANSS is a 30-item psychometric scale used to measure and monitor symptom severity in psychotic patients. The instrument was developed by Stanley Kay, Lewis Opler and Abraham Fiszbein in 1987. The PANSS is a relatively brief, semistructured interview, requiring 30-45 minutes to administer. During the course the participants will be theoretically introduced to the PANSS.
Moreover, all participants are required to conduct interviews with patients. All interviews are subsequently rated. For approval of the course, a short written clinical summary of each PANSS interview is required. 1
