Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School). All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student, you will be placed on the waiting list for the course until enrollment deadline. After the deadline of enrollment, available seats will be allocated to students on the waiting list.
Learning objectives A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Define referral criteria for CBCT, CT and MRI 2. Explain the patient risks for CBCT, CT and MRI 3. Explain the technique and theory behind MR and CT 4. Apply CBCT, CT, MRI and surface scanner in the clinic with regards to diagnosis and treatment planning 5. Apply CBCT, CT, MRI, surface scanner and photogrammetry in research projects
Content In Medicine and dentistry, 3D image modalities as CT, CBCT, MRI, surface scanner and photogrammetry are often used in the clinic for diagnosis and treatment planning. In addition these modalities are also used in research projects. The aim of the course is to provide the participants with knowledge and skills of CT, CBCT, MRI, surface scanner and photogrammetry from technique and risks to implementation in the clinic and research. The course contents lectures in: referral criteria and risks for CBCT, CT and MRI; technique and theory behind CT and MR and photogrammetry; clinical application of CT, MR, surface scanner photogrammetry in medicine, forensic medicine and dentistry; CBCT and MR in clinical research projects; CT, MR and photogrammetry in forensic research projects. Demonstration of CBCT, CT, MR, surface scanner and photogrammetry.
Participants PhD students in medicine, odontology and engineering who are working with CBCT, CT or MRI or are planning to do research in this area.
