Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at graduate schools in the other Nordic countries. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from Nordic countries. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Conduct the diagnostic interview SCAN
2. Evaluate presence and severity of a wide range of psychopathological phenomena
3. Administrate the electronic version of the interview
Content
The aim of the course is to teach the participants to use the SCAN (Schedules for Clinical Assessment in Neuropsychiatry). SCAN is developed in WHO and can be used for diagnostic of mental disorders in ICD-10 and DSM-IV. SCAN is a semistructured interview with propes for each item and a glossary in which there is an explanation for each questions. During the course all parts of the SCAN interview will be used, and each participant will perform at least one interview under supervision and watch other interviews. The course contains theoretical education about psychopathology and interrater reliability.
Participants
PhD students in psychiatry and clinicians can participate. PhD students will have higher priority than clinicians. Clinicians will be enrolled after the application deadline, if there are available seats. Note the course fee rules at the top of this page.
