Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at graduate schools in the other Nordic countries. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from Nordic countries. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.

Cancer Immunology and Immunotherapy
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Understand how the human immune system interact and shape the phenotype of cancer
2. Gain in depth knowledge on the methodologies used to study the immune response to cancer
3. Understand how cancer immunotherapies work in the clinical setting
4. Critically evaluate novel therapeutic approaches using the immune system to combat cancer
Content
This course cover all the main aspect of cancer immunology and immunotherapy, from the bench to the bedside. The focus of the course shifts between day 1-2, where basic and translational research are the main topics, to day 3 where the application of this knowledge in the clinic is presented. In day 1-2, selected aspects of the generation of immune response to cancer, avoidance of immune destruction, immune targets on cancer cells as well as how to evaluate immune response to cancer and use this knowledge to develop novel treatments will be discussed by active researchers in the field. Day 3 is fully dedicated to the application of cancer immunotherapy in the clinical arena to cover both clinical research and real-wold application of cancer immunotherapies in western health systems.
Participants
The course is relevant for PhD students who work on cancer or immunology related PhD projects, and aim to broaden their knowledge on basic, translational and clinical aspects of cancer immunology research. As such, PhD students engaged in basic, applied, and clinical cancer research projects are all welcome.

Note: All applicants are asked to submit invoice details in case of no-show, late cancellation or obligation to pay the course fee (typically non-PhD students). If you are a PhD student, your participation in the course must be in agreement with your principal supervisor.
