1. Understand how to use Twitter and LinkedIn to expand their global network within a specific research field
2. Identify personal routines, augmented by automation, that can monitor news and ideas from specific research areas
3. Network efficiently at events and conferences using Twitter and LinkedIn
4. Get other people involved in their own research
5. Disseminate their own research to a wider specialised audience

Content
This is a practical, hands-on workshop in health science communication and the use of social media platforms Twitter and LinkedIn for networking and dissemination.

Social media platforms such as Twitter and LinkedIn can allow researchers to network with other international colleagues within a highly specialized niche area. Participants in this workshop will learn how to break out of the filter bubble of their own social media newsfeed, and open up to new collaboration partners and ideas.

The workshop will introduce participants to the latest techniques and best practices in the tracking and sharing of content on social media in the health science area. It will be mostly focused on the platforms Twitter and LinkedIn, but will also touch on other platforms (such as Reddit, Quora, Hootsuite).
