Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at graduate schools in the other Nordic countries. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university or Nordic countries, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Understand how to use DesignThinking as a tool when solving a problem
2. Learn how to use Design Thinking tools to develop new ideas and to assess market potential in current research/needs
3. Get insight into how DesignThinking can create a good setup for working with development and implementation of new ideas and processes
4. Analyse a problem and put into perspective how to assess a solution
Content
The 2-day DesignThinking course is designed to give the participants a quick overview of the DesignThinking principles and a short introduction to the toolbox used. The workshop is a hands-on workshop where the participants are introduced to how the DesignThinking toolbox can be a strong, creative and alternative way of identifying needs, creating prototypes, assessing problems and finding solutions. The content in the DesignThinking course will cover translational research, commercialization, business development in health/medical sciences, career development and team work.
Participants
PhD students at all levels can participate. No further experience or qualifications are required.
