Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at graduate schools in the other Nordic countries. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from Nordic countries. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1.Practice his/her presentation skills to a peered audience either by presenting a poster (1+2nd year students ) or an oral presentation (3rd year students) to other students and supervisors from the programme
2.Get insight in different Career paths and choices to be made with regards to finishing their PhD and getting a job
3.Acquire knowledge of molecular mechanisms of disease and extend their scientific network
Content
The Aim of the course is to stimulate networking between students and supervisors in MoMeD and to introduce MoMeD students to career options after finishing their PhD, by inviting former Momed students to tell about their career choices. The summer school further gives the students a chance to present their work and get feedback from peers in a “safe” environment.
The MoMeD Summer School 2021 will feature scientific presentations in the area of molecular mechanisms of disease performed by the participating students as either talks or poster presentations. In addition, a session will provide information on different scientific career paths, and how to describe personal and scientific competencies. In addition, contemporary methods and technologies within this research area will be discussed in a series of workshops.

Day 1: Presentation of MoMeD students’ projects. 3rd year students will present their project as talks and 1st and 2nd year students will present their projects on posters. Presentations are mixed with lectures from invited speakers on future career opportunities. Poster sessions; the students/supervisors evaluate each other’s presentations. 1st year students will be chosen as chairs
Day 2: Continued student presentations from MoMeD students, mixed with scientific method workshops organized by MoMeD supervisors
Preparation: all students must submit an abstract of their PhD project to MOMED administration (via momed website) before July 4th 2021.

Seats to PhD students from other Danish universities will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and according to the applicable rules.
Applications from other participants will be considered after the last day of enrolment.
Note: All applicants are asked to submit invoice details in case of no-show, late cancellation or obligation to pay the course fee (typically non-PhD students). If you are a PhD student, your participation in the course must be in agreement with your principal supervisor.
