Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at graduate schools in the other Nordic countries. All other participants must pay the course fee.

Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from Nordic countries. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.

Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:

1.Understand the concept and advanced principles of the translational field of immunometabolism
2.Discuss and relate to the recent and most important litterature on the topic
3.Discuss mechanisms to modulate metabolism to regulate the immune response
4.Discuss advanced experimental methods to study different aspects of immunometabolism

Content
Immunometabolism is an emerging field of translational research that investigates the interplay between immunological and metabolic processes. Metabolic processes regulate immune cell responses in healthy individuals as well as during infection, cancer, autoimmunity and aging. The discoveries within the field of immnuometabolism are paving the way for novel therapies for chronic inflammatory and autoimmune diseases, as well representing a new class of cancer immunotherapies. With this course, the student will be introduced to the forefront research within the research field of immnunometabolism and will through lectures and group work, actively relate different aspects of immunometabolism to get a deeper understanding the field and its current and future application in the clinic.

Participants
The PhD course is intended for students from all academic fields, who are working or are planning to work with immunometabolism in the a laboratory and/or a clinical setting. However, the course is open for all students interested in the topic.
