Content
This PhD course runs over five days in class, a week of individual study and additional four days in class. The course aims to provide PhD students with a solid background for managing the different stages and the progression of qualitative studies from idea (research questions) to analysis and write-up. Participants are supported in how to strengthen methodological, theoretical and analytical approaches of their research through lectures, student presentations, and discussions with lecturers and other course participants, group sessions and through home assignments. Lectures, student preparations and exercises will focus on conceptualization and methodological, theoretical and analytical perspectives central to qualitative research with specific focus on international and global health challenges. Particularly important are the workshop sessions in which we focus on participants’ individual projects.
