Aim and content
This is a generic course. This means that the course is reserved for PhD students at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at the Graduate School, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. After the enrolment deadline, available seats will be allocated to the waiting list.
The course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Understand how to use LinkedIn and X (Twitter) to expand their global network within a specific research field
2. Identify personal routines, augmented by automation, that can monitor news and ideas from specific research areas
3. Network efficiently at events and conferences using LinkedIn and X (Twitter)
4. Get other people involved in their own research
5. Disseminate their own research to a wider specialised audience
Content
This is a practical, hands-on workshop in health science communication and the use of social media platforms LinkedIn and X (Twitter) for networking and dissemination.
Social media platforms such as LinkedIn and X (Twitter) can allow researchers to network with other international colleagues within a highly specialized niche area. Participants in this workshop will learn how to break out of the filter bubble of their own social media newsfeed, and open up to new collaboration partners and ideas.
The workshop will introduce participants to the latest techniques and best practices in the tracking and sharing of content on social media in the health science area. It will be mostly focused on the platforms LinkedIn and X (Twitter), but will also touch on other platforms.

Two half-days (4 hours), consisting of short lectures interspersed with in-class exercises, discussion, and in-class group work.
There will be preparation (2 hours before the course) and homework (4 hours) between the two half-day sessions.
