Aim and content

This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD Students from NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee.

Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from NorDoc member faculties. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.

Learning objectives

A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:

1. Learning to leverage personality differences in successful academic collaborations
2. Learn about innovation and what it takes to bring it from academia to industry
3. Understand what career paths may be relevant after their PhD
4. Network their peers

Content

As indicated in the learning objectives, the students will learn about personality types and how to leverage this information in a collaboration. They will learn about innovation and how that can be a career path. More general career paths will also be discussed.

Besides lectures and discussions about chosen topics relevant to achieving the learning objectives, the symposium will give PhD students in the field of medical and molecular imaging the opportunity to network across hospitals and departments.

Participants

PhD-students and other researchers with interest in the topic. No special qualifications are required.

Relevance to graduate programmes

The course is relevant to PhD students from the following graduate programmes at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences, UCPH:

Language

The course will normally be taught in English. However, if only Danish participants are enrolled, the course will be taught in Danish. Only exceptions will be international speakers who will present in English.

Form

Lectures, discussions, and group work. The participants will be asked to take the DISC personality test before the course start.
