Aim and content
This PhD Supervisor Talk is for PhD supervisors at the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. Other faculty members are also welcome.

How supportive should a PhD supervisor be? While it's widely acknowledged that supervisors play a pivotal role in supporting the emotional well-being of their PhD students, the question arises: should this support come at the expense of your own well-being?
In this talk we will unveil strategies for prioritizing your own well-being while also effectively supporting your PhD students. We will delve into the complexities of maintaining a healthy work-life balance within the academic sphere. We explore the significance of having clear priorities, establishing boundaries and, crucially, mastering the art of saying "no" when necessary.
This talk provides a research-informed platform for opening a key dialogue about how you can take care of your own time as a supervisor. Join us as we collectively explore how to serve as role models for a sustainable academic work-life.
