Aim and content
The main purpose of this voluntary course is to make co-supervision a more efficient and enjoyable pro-cess and improve the overall quality of PhD supervision. At this course, you will learn tools to clearly de-fine your role and to align expectations with the PhD student and the rest of the supervisor team.

Target group
Primary co-supervisors and co-supervisorsat at SUND, UCPH , who already supervise PhD students or who will become co-supervisors within the next year.


Learning goals
After the seminar you are able to:

• Clearly define your role as a co-supervisor and match your effort with your resources
• Use tools to align expectations with the supervisor team
• Analyse power distribution in the team and address disagreements
• Contribute with constructive written feedback
• Optimise the feedback process when several authors are involved


Teaching format
The course combines short presentations by the teachers/facilitators with plenary discussions and group exercises. Presentations by the facilitators will focus on providing a range of research-based tools appli-cable to the participants' practice.
