Aim and content
This is a generic course. This means that the course is reserved for PhD students at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at the Graduate School, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. After the enrolment deadline, available seats will be allocated to the waiting list.
The course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Facilitate group work and handling group dynamics.
2. Make use of the different facilitating roles in relation to your own disciplinary background, competences, and preferences.
3. Develop, plan, and run workshops and other types of processes with an engaging and collaborative focus.
4. Understand the concepts innovation and facilitation.
The participants will achieve knowledge and understanding of different approaches to facilitation and innovation. At this course, theories will be turned in to practice to immediately improve skills in developing, planning and facilitating collaborative processes e.g., workshops, meetings, research and teaching, where the goal is to engage/involve citizens/patients/students/colleagues/other relevant stakeholders. After the course the participants will have competencies in plan and facilitate collaborative and innovative processes.
Content
The course will introduce you to the various aspects of facilitating innovative processes with focus on creativity and collaboration within health. During the course you will get the opportunity to try out and reflect upon tools and formats for facilitation relevant for your research, clinical practice, teaching/ learning and collaboration processes. The course takes an exploratory view on facilitation with respect to the different approaches for structuring, staging and driving processes drawing from e.g. group concept mapping, participatory design, design thinking and systemic theory.

PhD students who wish to learn how to facilitate processes with focus on collaboration, innovation, and creativity within health.

Expected frequency

Seats to PhD students from other Danish universities will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and according to the applicable rules.
Applications from other participants will be considered after the last day of enrolment.
Note: All applicants are asked to submit invoice details in case of no-show, late cancellation or obligation to pay the course fee (typically non-PhD students). If you are a PhD student, your participation in the course must be in agreement with your principal supervisor.
