Aim and content
Seats for this course are reserved for PhD students at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at the Graduate School, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. After the enrolment deadline, available seats will be allocated to the waiting list.
The course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Practice his/her presentation skills to a peered audience either by presenting a poster (1+2nd year students) or an oral presentation (3rd year students) to other students and supervisors from the programme.
2. Acquire knowledge of molecular mechanisms of disease and extend their scientific network.
3. Give and receive feedback on their own and fellow PhD student’s research.
4. Acquire knowledge from transferable skills/scientific workshops offered during Summer school.

The aim of the course is to train presentation skills and stimulate scientific networking between students and supervisors in MoMeD. The summer school gives the students a chance to present their research and receive feedback from peers in a “safe” environment. The 2-day course introduces different subjects, which are all relevant to MoMeD PhD students.
The MoMeD Summer School 2025 will feature scientific presentations in the area of molecular mechanisms of disease performed by participating students in a form of either talks or poster presentations. All students will get a chance to attend workshops relevant for their PhD education and further career.

The Summer School consists of 2 days. Both days are mandatory to attend. Transportation and accommodation will be provided.
Day 1: Presentation of MoMeD students’ projects. 3rd year students will be chosen to present their project as talks and 1st and 2nd year students will present their projects on posters. The day will consist of talks, poster presentations and a networking/teambuilding event finishing with a dinner for MoMeD students and supervisors.
Day 2: Continued student presentations from MoMeD students, workshops with relevant topics for students to select. You choose the workshop, when you sign up at 1)

Preparation:
all students must submit an abstract of their PhD project before April 27th 2025 (upload on MoMeD website). Selected 3rd year students are expected to prepare a short talk about their project.

Seats to PhD students from other Danish universities will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and according to the applicable rules. Applications from other participants will be considered after the last day of enrolment.
Note: All applicants are asked to submit invoice details in case of no-show, late cancellation or obligation to pay the course fee (typically non-PhD students). If you are a PhD student, your participation in the course must be in agreement with your principal supervisor.
