Introduction to University Pedagogy

The course is taught in Danish as well in English. It is very popular, and presently it takes 280 participants a year.
Each course has a capacity of 24 participants. The course is offered to PhD students and other scientific staff at the Faculty of Health and Medical Science and the Faculty of Science. It is centered on planning and teaching a lesson. The course is an intensive 4 day course, all within the same week. Expect to do some minor work on Wednesday.

Course objectives
The course objectives are to give participants capability to plan, carry out and evaluate their own teaching. Participants should see and consider various possibilities and use these to ensure the students' outcome of the teaching. Participants will also learn about selected pedagogical principles and discuss general educational perspectives.

The grade (which is either a pass or a non-pass grade) is based on an assessment of the partipants' contribution to discussions and the exchange of ideas.

Course weight
3 ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).
77 working hours (47 for preparation, and 30 for course).

Participation fee
Once you have accepted your place on this course, the following rules apply: 3 weeks before the start of the course, it is possible to opt out, without having to pay participation fees. Beyond this date you will be charged the full participation fee.
Participants fee: Kr. 4.500.
