Aim and content
This is a generic course. This means that the course is reserved for PhD students at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at the Graduate School, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. After the enrolment deadline, available seats will be allocated to the waiting list.
The course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Understand Redcap’s user interface
2. Design a set of data collection instruments with multiple data collection points
3. Create and manage digital surveys and customize user rights
4. Test database functionalities and move their project from development to production
5. Manage data quality through data export and real time reports
Content
The course is a practical hands-on walkthrough of the REDCap data management system. The primary goal is to construct surveys and instruments with branching logic and data validation. In addition, the student will learn to manage user rights and create dynamic reports to assess data collection progress. Lastly, the student will learn to send surveys from REDCap to eBoks and to import data into Redcap and export to statistical analysis software packages (STATA, SPSS, R, SAS).
Participants
The course is intended for PhDs within RegionH or from KU, involved in clinical research using REDCap as their data management system and are involved in design, construction and management of schemes and collection of research data.
