Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD Students from NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from NorDoc member faculties. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.
Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Integrate advanced pharmacological concepts through active participation in masterclasses, demonstrating the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to case studies, present group work findings to peers and senior researchers, and engage meaningfully in expert-led discussion sessions.
2. Critically assess emerging technologies in cardiovascular medicine, demonstrating the ability to evaluate their potential impact on research and clinical practice through structured discussions and group activities.
3. Demonstrate advanced presentation skills by delivering and defending research abstracts, incorporating received feedback from peers and senior researchers to enhance both content and format of scientific presentations.
4. Actively engage in scientific discussions following expert presentations, demonstrating the ability to formulate relevant questions, provide informed commentary, and contribute to academic discourse in cardiovascular medicine.
5. Establish professional relationships with researchers across different experience levels and backgrounds, participating effectively in both structured and informal knowledge-sharing sessions.
Content
The DCAcademy Summer Meeting 2025 focuses on three main scientific themes: Emerging technologies in cardiovascular medicine (AI and imaging innovations), pharmacology (treatment strategies for hypertension, heart failure, and atrial fibrillation), and aging & cardiovascular stiffness (clinical and preclinical aspects), along with a public health component. The program structure facilitates in-depth exploration of these topics through masterclasses, parallel sessions, abstract presentations, and poster discussions, allowing for comprehensive coverage of both fundamental concepts and cutting-edge research developments. The program emphasizes the integration of basic science, clinical research, and translational approaches across all major themes, supported by international expert presentations and interactive learning formats.
