Aim and content This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD Students from NorDoc member faculties. All other participants must pay the course fee. Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from NorDoc member faculties. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list. Learning objectives A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to: 1. The student will gain knowledge on current thinking on development of frailty and important factors leading to and affecting development of frailty 2. The students will train presentation of their data and studies and discuss this with faculty in a friendly atmosphere 3. The students will gain knowledge on technological aspects, digital twins and AI in relation to frailty and personalized medicine Content The course will consists of 14 lectures, one being a political lecture by Bjarne Hastrup CEO of “Ældresagen”, and the remaining 13 lectures of researchers from university of Copenhagen and DTU, that have focus on ageing and frailty. The topics cover a vide span from basic molecular mechanisms to detection of physical and cognitive frailty in general practice, and ending with lectures focusing in health technology, digital twins and application of AI. Participants PhD-students with a broad interest in ageing and frailty Relevance to graduate programmes The course is relevant to PhD students from the following graduate programmes at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences, UCPH: - Basic and Clinical Research in Musculoskeletal Sciences - Public Health and Epidemiology - Life Cycle in Medicine Language English Form The course will consist of Lectures by senior researchers and external guests. In addition the participating the phD-students will give a short oral presentation followed by questions.
