We will announce the courses for Basic Statistics on Monday 18 May 2026 at 10:00.
Please note that all the Basic Statistics for Researchers courses are taught in English from now on.
Equally, if you are enrolled in one of the courses, you will be removed from the waiting list on the other courses. (However, you can be enrolled in both Introduction to R and Basic Statistics for R).
The courses that will be announced are:
Basic statistics for health science researchers (10 Weeks) Please note that the Basic Statistics for Health Researchers courses have the same lecture hours but the exercise classes 4, 5, 6 and 7 take place at different times.
All classes: Lectures: Tuesdays: 1, 8, 15, 22, 29 September, 6, 20, 27 October, 3, 10 November 2026, taught live all days 10.00-13.00 followed by an optional one-hour live questions and answers session 13.00-14.00. Video recordings of the lectures are published on the course webpage Tuesday afternoon.
Exercise class 4: Wednesdays: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 September, 7, 21, 28 October, 4, 11 November 2026, all days 12.00-15.00.
Exercise class 5: Wednesdays: 2, 9, 16, 23, 30 September, 7, 21, 28 October, 4, 11 November 2026, all days 15.00-18.00.
Exercise class 6: Thursdays: 3, 10, 17, 24 September, 1, 8, 22, 29 October, 5, 12 November 2026, all days 8.00-11.00.
Exercise class 7: Thursdays: 3, 10, 17, 24 September, 1, 8, 22, 29 October, 5, 12 November 2026, all days 11.00-14.00.

Biostatistics for experimental medical researchers An introductory statistics course, targeted at pre-clinical researchers, with five full days of teaching in total. Reduced curriculum compared to Basic Statistic course, but with more statistical methods for small sample sizes.
Dates: 11, 16, 18, 23, 25 November 2026, all days 8-12. Online homework assignments between these dates.
Introduction to R for Basic Statistics Dates: 25, 27, 28 August 2026, Tuesday and Thursday 8-15, Friday 9-12.
Basic Statistic for Health Researchers (6 weeks) This course is similar to Basic Statics for Health Researchers (10 Weeks), but a more intensive version, with two full days of teaching per week for six weeks only. (Spring term only)
