Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at graduate schools in the other Nordic countries. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student, you will be placed on the waiting list for the course until enrollment deadline. After the deadline of enrollment, available seats will be allocated to students on the waiting list.

Learning objectives
The summer school objectives are to stimulate networking between PhD students affiliated with the Drug Research Academy (DRA) and networking between PhD students and senior researchers in pharmaceutical sciences. It offers a chance for PhD students to discuss their project with other PhD students and supervisors.

A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:

• 1st year PhD student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
a. Critically review abstracts and poster presentations
b. Reflect on oral presentations

• 2nd year PhD student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
a. Present and discuss a scientific poster
b. Reflect on oral presentations

• 3rd year PhD student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
a. Present and discuss their research project orally
b. Critically assess abstracts and poster presentations
c. Reflect on oral presentations


Content
The summer school is a mixture of PhD students’ presentations and plenary lectures:
Presentation of DRA PhD students’ projects: 3rd year PhD students will present their projects orally and 2nd year PhD students will present their projects on posters.
Three plenary keynote speakers will give a lecture on broad topics relevant to PhD students in pharmaceutical sciences.

A committee of DRA supervisors will review the oral presentations. 3rd year PhD students will review the posters. Prizes to best oral presentations and best poster will be granted.

Participants
The course is a mandatory part of the curriculum for PhD students affiliated with DRA.

The course is relevant to PhD students from the following graduate programmes at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences, UCPH:

Pharmaceutical Sciences (Drug Research Academy)

Form
Mixture of plenary lectures, discussions, oral and poster presentations.

Preparation: 2nd and 3rd year students must send in an abstract of the project. PhD students must prepare either an oral presentation and to act as poster assessors (3rd year) or a poster (2nd year), or prepare to act as poster reviewers (1st year).

Seats to PhD students from other Danish universities will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and according to the applicable rules.

Note: All applicants are asked to submit invoice details in case of no-show, late cancellation or obligation to pay the course fee (typically non-PhD students). If you are a PhD student, your participation in the course must be in agreement with your principal supervisor.
