Aim and content
This course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School), and for PhD students at graduate schools in the other Nordic countries. All other participants must pay the course fee.
Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at a Danish university, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. This also applies to PhD students from Nordic countries. After the enrollment deadline, available seats will be allocated to applicants on the waiting list.

Learning objectives
A student who has met the objectives of the course will be able to:
1. Understand the basic mechanism of regulation of the immune response
2. Understand the immune system in different tissues
3. Describe fundamental mechanisms of tissue versus systemic immune responses
4. Reflect on the meaning of immune priveleged tissues
5. Describe differencies in the immune response to autoantigens and pathogens
Content
The aim of the course is to convey current newest knowledge of the immune system in different tissues, the mechanisms mediating immune privelegded tissues, and how the immune response changes depending on the locations of the response -tissue vs. systemic response by leading international scientists. In addition, the immune to autoantigens vs. pathogens will be discussed.
