Aim and content
This is a generic course. This means that the course is reserved for PhD students at the Graduate School of Health and Medical Sciences at UCPH. Anyone can apply for the course, but if you are not a PhD student at the Graduate School, you will be placed on the waiting list until enrollment deadline. After the enrolment deadline, available seats will be allocated to the waiting list.

The course is free of charge for PhD students at Danish universities (except Copenhagen Business School). All other participants must pay the course fee.

Learning objectives
• To equip participants with the skills to produce effective research writing
• To give participants insight into the rationale behind effective research writing
• To alert participants to the common mistakes made in research writing
• To enable participants to appraise the language and style of their own writing

By exploring the characteristics of academic writing and understanding the rationale behind them, you will learn how to communicate clearly, accurately and concisely. Grammar and punctuation will be demystified and your vocabulary will be widened. You will also receive advice and practical tips on how to revise your writing along with individual feedback and correction of your own work.

PhD students who wish to publish in English language journals.

Face-to-face classroom tuition using relevant material and examples with follow-up practices and self-guided research writing. Participants will receive individual feedback on their writing.
